Life on the Imperial River

The Imperial River is what sets Serrano apart. Every owner can use the riverfront park, with a gazebo and racks for canoes and kayaks. From there, owners launch straight onto the river. Paddlers can head upriver through quiet, tree-lined stretches or downriver toward Estero Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. Fishing from the bank or a kayak is part of everyday life.

A select few single-family homesites sit directly on the river with gulf access. The Homes

Serrano offers two very different ways to live. The single-family homesites were sold to owners who built custom homes with the builder of their choice, so no two look quite alike. Many have pools, spas and covered lanais. Some take in river or lake views.

The coach homes are grouped four to a building in 14 buildings. Each has its own one-car garage. Coach home owners also enjoy the clubhouse and community pool.

Location

Serrano sits across West Terry Street from Bonita Fairways and close to the Bonita Springs Recreation Center. Downtown Bonita Springs and Riverside Park are a short bike ride away. Coconut Point is a short drive north. Bonita Beach and Barefoot Beach are about 15 minutes west. Southwest Florida International Airport is about 20 to 25 minutes away.

A Local's View of Serrano

Having lived a good portion of my life in the West Terry Street corridor, I have sold a lot of real estate up and down the street, including in Serrano. Here I have sold vacant land, single-family homes and condominiums.

What sets Serrano apart from so many other neighborhoods is its canoe park. The launch, with a few picnic tables beside it, is mainly for paddlecraft. It is a nice feature for folks who enjoy paddling. It is also a great way to reach the Imperial River without driving all the way to Lovers Key to put in.

Back when I was a runner, this was one of my routes. Heading down Terry Street, I would run every street along the way, including every street in Serrano.

Serrano is most similar to Paradise Village and Brendan Cove. Like them, it is gated. Some of its homesites also have gulf access on the river.
