A Local's View of Saltleaf

Saltleaf is a stunning piece of property. It sits where the old Weeks Fish Camp used to be. When I was a paddler, it was one of my favorite places to launch. I used to put my paddleboard in at that little boat ramp and marina. There was a darling little bait shop.

Part of the development kept room for the public to keep using that ramp, which is lovely. It remains another access point for the Great Calusa Blueway.

The community is tucked away at the end of Coconut Road, even beyond the Hyatt at Coconut Point. The only thing farther west is Pelican Landing's marina, where a water taxi carries hotel guests and Pelican Landing residents to the private island beach. It is a quiet location.

The views are beautiful and picturesque, with mangroves, estuaries and winding waterways. The higher you go, the bluer the water view becomes.
