Pelican Landing is a master planned community in Bonita Springs, Florida, built across 2,365 acres. The community borders Spring Creek to the south and Estero Bay to the west with access toward the Gulf of Mexico.
Pelican Landing sits west of US 41 in Bonita Springs with access from Interstate 75 at exit 116. It is often confused with Pelican Bay, a separate community in Naples. The mix-up makes sense because the “Pelican” name was a developer clue. WCI Communities, which began as Westinghouse’s community development company, used it for Pelican Bay, Pelican Landing, Pelican Sound and Pelican Preserve.
Preservation is part of the design. Mature live oaks, slash pines, cypress trees and sabal palms shape the streetscape. Many neighborhoods keep a natural look. Homeowners often preserve existing vegetation and supplement with native plants.
Pelican Landing Golf and Country Club
Pelican Landing began in 1985 with the creation of Pelican's Nest Golf Club, now known as The Nest Golf Club. The course architect is Tom Fazio. Pelican Landing Beach Park and Amenities
Fitness Center: The Fitness Center is located in the Community Center and includes cardiovascular and resistance equipment. Access is controlled through a photo ID system.
Beach Park: Pelican Landing's Beach Park is a private resident amenity accessed by boat shuttle. Visitors enjoy swimming, sunning, shelling, bird watching and fishing. Sailing Center: Courtesy sailboat rides and sailing lessons are offered by appointment.
Bocce: The bocce courts are located behind the Community Center and may be reserved during daytime hours.

A Local’s View of Pelican Landing
Pelican Landing, much like Bonita Bay, got its start long ago, back when I wondered who was ever going to buy this real estate. Here we are today with a city full of people and a community like Pelican Landing that shines like a gem in a crown.
As a new agent and a fairly young mother, I sold the last new carriage homes in the Palm Colony section of Pelican Landing as an outside agent while the community was wrapping up. I also remember grabbing my rollerblades and skating all over the neighborhood. It was beautiful then. It became even more beautiful as the landscaping matured and the trees grew.
Over the years I have paddled Spring Creek, which separates Pelican Landing from Bonita Bay. I have skated through the community and walked many of its sidewalks.
Pelican Landing was master planned. Over time, lifestyles changed. As residents became more active, the tennis center and fitness center needed to grow. Pelican Landing purchased additional land near the center gate to expand amenities for residents.
Whenever I am in the neighborhood checking on a listing or meeting a buyer, I carve out a few extra minutes to visit the butterfly garden back by the clubhouse. Anyone who knows me knows I love butterflies.
