Sometimes a restaurant feels like a discovery. Tigress, located on the seventh floor of the newly opened Perry Hotel in North Naples, Florida, offers that exact kind of experience. It is tucked beside The Bay House and perched above the Cocohatchee River. The rooftop views stretch for miles. From the floor-to-ceiling glass, diners can see across the river, mangroves to the gulf waters and watch the sun dip. Even before the food arrives, the panoramic views steal the show.
Arrival and First Impressions
We arrived just before sunset. A few parking spots were available in front of the hotel but most guests valet after 4:30 p.m. or use the adjacent garage. Insider tip, there is a door from the garage to the hotel lobby. Once inside, we took the elevator straight to the top. the elevator is to the left whether entering from the garage or main lobby. A hostess met us as the elevator doors opened. We had reservations which we recommend especially during season. As we entered the rooftop bar area we were greeted by a soft breeze and a scene that was total vacation vibe.
Atmosphere and Ambiance
The entire restaurant is refined, modern and surprisingly intimate. It is elevated in every sense. Inside, the atmosphere blends contemporary Asian accents with soft textures and warm lighting. Booths curve around facing the windows so every seat gets a view. From where we sat, we could see the rooftops of The Bay House, the shimmering Gulf to the west and a skyline that included Cove Towers, Aqua, Pelican Isle Yacht Club, Kalea Bay and even the high rises of Bonita Bay. Far off in the distance we caught a glimpse of the Bonita Springs High Rises and Bonita Beach and Tennis Club.
Food and Flavor
Tigress is the type of place where the details matter. Our server welcomed us with thoughtful recommendations and explained that most dishes are designed for sharing. The pacing of the meal was intentional and perfect. Our appetizers arrived first followed by salads then entrees. It created a dining experience that felt relaxed and indulgent.
We started with the lobster bao buns and a crispy tuna rice appetizer. For entrees, we shared the signature ribs, the slippery noodles with mushrooms and the truffle asparagus dusted with roasted hazelnuts. The asparagus was a standout and worth another getaway just to enjoy it as a stand alone. It was delicate, savory and cooked to perfection. One of our guests tried a local sour lychee cocktail while another ordered a rare Hazify beer. Each plate that arrived was artful and memorable.
Post-Dinner Views
The rooftop bar stayed lively throughout dinner. Beautiful people lingered at the railings with cocktails in hand. It never felt crowded. We lingered too. After dinner, we rode the elevator back to the first floor and found the valet circle filled with exotic vehicles. A casual car show was underway. Ferraris, Rolls Royce and other luxury cars glimmered under the porte-cochère.
Final Thoughts
Tigress is more than a meal. It is an experience. A short escape. For locals who rarely stop working long enough to appreciate where we live, it is a reminder of what makes Southwest Florida extraordinary. Go now before the season crowd arrives. Order the truffle asparagus. Watch the sun fall behind the Gulf. Then drive home slowly and feel like you just came back from vacation.
