A Flavorful Evening at Chops City Grill – Bonita Springs, Florida
First Impressions & Ambience
Chops City Grill is located just off U.S. 41 near the entrance to Shadow Wood at The Brooks on the border of Bonita Springs and Estero. With easy access and plenty of parking, it’s a convenient and inviting stop for a midweek dinner or a special night out. We were seated in a quiet booth, away from the main traffic of the dining room. The early evening atmosphere was calm and elegant, with a soft build of energy as diners arrived. Dining in summer in Bonita Springs offers more space and faster service, so it’s a treat for the locals to go out during the off season.
️Menu & Specials
The regular dinner menu is impressive, but during the summer, Chops offers a special 3-course menu that brings tremendous value. They also offer select bottles of wine at 30% off, which made exploring their Legacy wine list a no-brainer. There was also a vegetarian dining menu provided in addition to the regular menu and summer special menu.
What We Shared
We invited a friend with us on this trip. Our guest started with cocktails—including the standout Truffle Old Fashioned that was described as “velvet and earth in the same sip.” Tasting many flavors and layers from the sea salt to the truffle. As the king cube slowly melted, the flavors evolved so every sip was different.
Dinner Order Included:
- Complimentary Bread with parsley butter
- Porterhouse Steak – cooked to perfection
- Jalapeño Potatoes Au Gratin – topped with fresh sliced jalapeño
- Green Beans
- Pan-Seared Black Grouper served with screaming hot rock shrimp, tomatoes, garlic and white wine
- Seared Tuna with horseradish whipped potatoes
- Egg Rolls – hand rolled and crisp
- Key Lime Pie for dessert
Everything was served hot, well-paced and beautifully presented. Jill ordered off of the summer menu which included the spring rolls, seared tuna with horseradish whipped potatoes and key lime pie for dessert. The portion was generous—enough for two—so we all enjoyed a taste. We decided that it would be a delight simply to enjoy the Au Gratin Potatoes and spring rolls over drinks at the bar. Both sides were surprising show-stopper treats!
⭐ Final Impressions
Chops City Grill delivered on every front—flavor, service and ambiance. It’s refined without being stuffy and makes for a great local favorite. Business casual attire fits right in. The crowd is a mix of professionals stopping in after work and groups of friends enjoying the evening.
Since Chops is near Shadow Wood at The Brooks and just across the street from both The Colony and Pelican Landing, it’s an easy choice for those seeking luxury and a lively yet polished setting to meet up with friends—or make a few new ones.
