The heaviest traffic typically falls between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. and again between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. on the main routes to the airport: I-75, Ben Hill Griffin Parkway, Alico Road and US 41 (Tamiami Trail).

Interstate 75 has a dedicated exit for the airport, so reaching the terminal is effortless and returning to the interstate is just as simple. Lines are typically short and things move swiftly. Because RSW is not a major hub for connecting flights, nearly everyone in the terminal is there to board a plane or to meet one. You will not find crowds of travelers camped at the gates waiting on connections.
My best-kept parking secret: head to the parking garage and park on the top floor. You will be steps from the elevators, so you can drop down one level or take the stairs, cross the skywalk and walk right into the terminal.
Pro tip: A convenience store sits near the cell phone lot. When a pickup is delayed or you simply want a cup of coffee while you wait, you can grab a drink without parking and walking into the terminal.
Pro tip: On the drive in from the interstate, keep an eye on the open green space to your right. Deer and wild turkeys are regular visitors to those fields.
